ANFP is dedicated to celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion and is proud to recognize the past, present and future of Pride. This course is focuses on two modules. The first is to have an understanding of how Pride came to be, the significant historical events that have shaped Pride as we know it today. The second is how do we remain authentic supporters of LGBTQ+ rights and honor the community beyond the celebration of Pride Month in June? This course will help.

Learning Objectives

• Discuss terms, language, and core concepts of the LGBTQ+ community.
• Identify the origins and historical events leading up to Stonewall.
• List the consequences members of the LGBTQ+ community faced for living authentically.
• Describe the events of the Stonewall Uprising.
• Assess how Pride has evolved to the modern day movement.
