Medications are prescribed for many medical conditions, and it is important for the CDM, CFPP to understand how food and medication interact. This course will include an overview of drug-nutrient interactions, common drug-nutrient interactions, and basics of herbal supplements and medical documentation.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify common drug-nutrient interactions and food-drug interactions that impact nutrition care
• Recognize which herbal supplements could have an impact on nutrition status
• Understand how drugs react in the body
