This course will introduce the vocabulary and abbreviations used in medical language by healthcare professionals. Emphasis is placed on building medical terms using prefixes, suffixes, and root words.

Learning Objectives:

• Analyze common medical terms by breaking them into prefixes, roots, and suffixes
• Explain the meanings of many common medical terms related to body structure and anatomy, medical conditions, diagnostic tests, treatments, and surgeries
• Identify common abbreviations used in medical records
