Long-term care for the 21st century has its mission to create a care environment for seniors that will promote quality of life and quality of care mutually. The residents’ abilities to achieve successful nutritional outcomes is dependent on their personalized plan of care. The MDS 3.0 is the instrument used to ensure a true “head-to-toe” approach to individualizing their care. Process driven, the RAI’s interdisciplinary approach defines the residents’ unique path towards achieving and maintaining their highest practical level of well-being.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the successful learner will be able to:
- Recognize the purpose behind the interdisciplinary process of the MDS 3.0 and the RAI instrument
- Collect and organize appropriate nutritional data to create a person-centered care plan
- Integrate the nutrition and clinical data processes to follow the most current regulatory guidelines
