Description

What is next for CMS in their efforts to continue to promote resident-centered cares? October 2018 has brought new MDS item changes and November 2018 will start the final Phase III of the LTC Mega Rule campaign that was initiated in 2016 - THE most expansive regulatory changes in long-term care in years. CDMs and the nutrition/dietary departments benefited in a HUGE way. As CDM Professionals, it is imperative to stay abreast of these changes and implement the departmental tasks required to solidify the importance placed on the CDM title and the role this position now holds in your community's long-term care team! Join us and understand the facts to be successful and compliant with these new rules!

Learning Objectives:

  • Outline the changes to the MDS October 2018
  • Review the CMS Mega Rule specifics for Phase 111 (2019) and recap current Phase II areas of concern for our Food & Nutrition Services Departments.
  • Discuss the CDM/Nutrition Team duties required to meet regulatory compliance/continuous quality improvement.
