Are you looking for an advanced level clinical nutrition course to have a better understanding of the ‘whys’ behind MNT? The Certificate of Advanced Learning: Building on MNT Basics online course provides CDMs with a more in-depth foundation on the science supporting MNT. As the level of acuity of residents/patients increases, the CDM plays a vital role in collecting and compiling pertinent data and alerting the RD/RDN and other interdisciplinary team members of troubling trends in dietary intake and decline in general well-being. The 30-hour CE course includes 18 sections and a competency exam.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the successful learner will be able to:
- Discuss the role of the CDM as a collaborator with the RD/RDN using the Nutrition Care Process model
- Explain the relationship between nutrition status and changes in overall health
- Describe the science supporting medical nutrition therapy for selected diseases and conditions
Prerequisite: Minimum CDM certification one year prior to enrollment
Upon successful completion of the course, the learner will be provided with a Certificate of Completion suitable for framing and an opportunity for an additional letter of recognition to be sent to your facility administrator or supervisor.
