This is part one of two webinars on the CMS Regulations Phase II. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) redefined the survey process beginning November 28, 2017 with a new computer-based approach, setting out to establish a single nationwide survey that builds off the two prior Traditional and QIS (Quality Indicator Survey) processes.

- Recognize the different elements of the process, selection of residents (initial pool)
- Define nutrition related pathways
- Discuss best practices for achieving good survey outcomes, tips, and competency tools
Speaker: Barbara Thomsen, CDM, CFPP, RAC-CT, ICAC is a resident assessment coordinator and an adjunct instructor with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, having worked in facilities, government roles, and in many national board positions. She has conducted numerous long-term care educational sessions across the country and currently is an Independent Health Care Consultant/Educator for ANFP as the Education & Regulatory Outreach Consultant.
