What is next for CMS in their efforts to continue to promote resident-centered cares? October 2018 has brought new MDS item changes and November 2018 will start the final Phase III of the LTC Mega Rule campaign that was initiated in 2016 - THE most expansive regulatory changes in long-term care in years. CDMs and the nutrition/dietary departments benefited in a HUGE way. As CDM Professionals, it is imperative to stay abreast of these changes and implement the departmental tasks required to solidify the importance placed on the CDM title and the role this position now holds in your community's long-term care team! Speaker: Barbara Thomsen is a certified dietary manager, resident assessment coordinator with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, having worked in Facilities, Government, current Adjunct Instructor and held many National board positions. She has conducted numerous long-term care educational sessions across the country and currently is an Independent Health Care Consultant/Educator working with ANFP as their Education & Regulatory Outreach Consultant.
